Laurie Dunlap, that sexy Mistress of Mayhem, has done it again! Her Murder Mysteries Will Travel productions has scared and humored us with her latest epic, BUMP IN THE NIGHT, The Halloween Monster Talent Show, which was held recently in Fairfax at Mama’s Italian Restaurant. There is Laurie “dressed to kill” as The Witch - who sounds like Mae West - introducing the audience to her array of horror characters costumed to the hilt. First we meet Frank Stein (John Scheer) singing “The Monster Mash.” Then it’s Dr. Bones Skelton (Tom Neubauer) doing “Dem Bones.” George Vampire (Bob Thompson) and Gracie the Friendly Ghost (Lisa Matthews) give forth with “Halloween Jokes.” Elvis Werewolf (Stefan Aleksander) rocks the room with “Little Red Riding Hood.” Ah yes, the dinner buffet is served, so the audience loads up on starch, protein and green leaf goodies. The kids get to play “Who Stole the Candy;” then out comes Ichabod the Great Pumpkinhead (Sandy Burns) to perform “Brush Up Your Shakespeare.” Reynolds the Wrappin Mummy (Jeff Obermiller) gives us “Addams Groove,” and Devlin the Devil (Matthew Staley) has a fiddle contest with Johnny to the tune of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Lola the Witch (Ms. Dunlap) performs the ever sexy “Whatever Lola Wants.” A fun evening for all! - THE REVIEW (Washington’s Original Arts Magazine) - Louis Levy |
